Bolingbroke Technology Center, LLC (BTC) is designing and preparing a 900-acre site for a data center only campus within one mile off Exit 15 along I-475 and HWY-41.

The state-of-the-art facility will bring the region new economic opportunities through millions of dollars in investment, tax revenue, and other community support.

*The current property owners will not participate in the development of the data center and are only designing and preparing the 900 acres for ownership transfer.

Data centers are essentially where the internet lives, housing the vital infrastructure to support our ability to stay connected in the digital world.

Additionally, data centers house computer systems and equipment used to store, process, and share information. It’s like the brain of the internet and other digital services, making things like emergency services, streaming videos, online shopping, and using apps possible.

Data centers are essential for businesses and organizations to keep information safe and running smoothly.

As part of the due diligence pertaining to this project, Central Georgia EMC has approved capacity required for the Bolingbroke Data Center and does not anticipate this project increasing rates or taking away supply to any neighbors. Central Georgia EMC is confident it can serve this project without any constraints.

The cost of providing power service to this site and building the necessary infrastructure will be borne by the project itself and will not be passed down to the ratepayers.

The project may encourage improvements in local energy infrastructure, benefiting the community with potential grid enhancements and efficiency upgrades that will improve the reliability of our local power supply.

This project and data center will rely upon the Macon Water Authority for water and sewer service.

Macon Water Authority has a surplus of 30 million gallons, which is more than sufficient to meet the needs of this project. It’s also worth pointing out that this project will not require full water usage of 1 million gallons per day until around 2032 or 2033. The total water usage will materialize gradually over a multi-year build-out. 


Data centers primarily use water for cooling, and modern cooling systems significantly reduce water consumption compared to traditional industrial facilities. The costs of extending water infrastructure to the project are factored into the development, not passed on to neighboring water customers.

BTC's top priority in designing the 900 acre site was to ensure that the community would not see or hear the data center.  

That means locating the buildings out of view from HWY-41 and the property's perimeter. Positioning the eventual structures on the site away from the perimeter will ensure any noise from the facility is minimized or nonexistent.

In addition, most state-of-the-art data centers today use advanced sound barriers and design features to reduce noise significantly.

This project will follow all laws and regulations and uphold the highest environmental standards. Data centers incorporate energy-efficient technologies, use sustainable practices, and explore renewable energy sources.

Many modern data centers prioritize sustainability by utilizing water-efficient cooling systems and sourcing power from clean energy providers.

The project's Stormwater management plan will meet or exceed all regulatory requirements.

Measures such as permeable surfaces and engineered drainage solutions will help prevent flooding, lower the volume to predevelopment rates, and protect water quality in surrounding areas.

Modern data centers are among the safest types of facilities to live near. They don’t emit harmful pollutants, hazardous materials, or loud noise. In fact, they’re quiet, secure, and built with strict environmental and public health standards in mind.

Data centers generally have a low impact on daily traffic, as they do not require large numbers of employees commuting at peak hours.

Unlike retail stores, subdivisions, or warehouses, this facility will generate a low volume daily traffic and very little will be from trucks.

Any construction-related traffic will be temporary and managed to minimize disruptions.

The data center will generate significant economic benefits, including:

Tax Revenue: The facility will contribute to the local tax base, funding public services like schools, emergency response, and infrastructure improvements.

Job Creation: The project will create high-paying, skilled jobs in IT, engineering, security, cybersecurity, and operations management.

Additionally, it will create indirect employment opportunities in various local businesses and industries.

By locating a data center in this strategic location near I-475, Bolingbroke will join many other communities in Georgia that are now home to dozens of data centers.

The project will be secured by controlled access and private, on-site security. Data Center campuses are some of the most secure, private facilities in the country, so there should be no impact on public safety.

BTC is working with Thomas and Hutton, Georgia’s leading engineering and design experts for projects like this. This project will follow all local, state, and federal laws.

Third parties, with accomplishment, are evaluating the site and requested our rezoning as a condition to move forward with a data center only project.
